LNP and opposition leader David Crisafulli spoke to 100 party members and interested electors at a dinner on Saturday, April 27 at Douglas Feez Pavilion in Warwick. He said some of the main issues to a regional electorate like Southern Downs would be security for agriculture and land tenure in water supply regulation. "The LNP wants to change laws so local councils can make decisions again for their communities," he said.

Mr Crisafulli went on to say it was important to have new tourist products for regional communities and have a respectable way to use natural parks. "All of Queensland is struggling with crime, health, housing and cost of living," he said.

"I couldn't believe it when I was told at the dinner that five cars were stolen in one weekend in Warwick. An LNP Government will establish partnerships with local governments to open up new land supplies for housing."

The opposition leader said the community needed water. "I support the Emu Swamp Dam boots and all, it would not only provide town water but economic security for the region."

He urged supporters to back the LNP in coming months with the next election on October 26 this year.
